Tina Hughes

Tina Hughes is a Senior Managing Director at Creative Planning Business Services, with over 30 years of experience advising companies, secured lenders, and stakeholders through financial distress, restructuring, and operational transition. She specializes in strategy development, crisis management, financial forecasting, and turnaround execution. Her work spans both bankruptcy proceedings and out-of-court workouts, helping clients secure financing, stabilize cash flow, and execute reorganization and sale strategies.

Tina has led engagements across a broad range of industries including manufacturing, distribution, technology, healthcare, retail, trucking, and auto finance. She has worked with companies ranging from $5 million to over $200 million in annual revenue and has advised on transactions involving distressed sales, lender negotiations, and liquidation of operating and non-operating businesses. In 2016, she led a team awarded the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) Midwest Chapter's Small Transaction of the Year for a successful Assignment for the Benefit of Creditors.

Before joining Creative Planning in 2024, Tina spent 23 years at High Ridge Partners, a middle-market turnaround consulting firm. She previously served as Vice President of Portfolio, Audit, and Operations at FINOVA Capital Corporation’s Healthcare Finance Division, managing a $1 billion loan portfolio. Earlier in her career, she was a commercial banker with American National Bank (now JP Morgan Chase) and began her career as a Field Examiner with GE Capital Corporation.

Tina holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Michigan State University. She is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and a long-standing, active member of the Turnaround Management Association. Her leadership within TMA includes roles as Director (2018–2020), Secretary (2022), VP of Communications (2023), and current VP of Programming. She also co-chaired the TMA Network of Women in 2016 and 2017.
