Welcome to Creative Planning

We took a broken system and turned it on its ear. Before we provide any investment advice, we make sure we learn about you, your current financial situation and your goals. From there, we can develop a customized investment plan that takes into account all the relevant factors to truly customize a portfolio to meet your goals and desired outcomes.

Our unique financial planning-led approach considers income sources and financial activities, such as:

After we get to know the aspects of your financial life that relate to your portfolio, we create a strategic plan that’s customized for you. That’s how we’ve become one of the top independent wealth management firms in America, managing over $36 billion of assets for clients in all 50 states.

We’re Different Because

Most advisors simply invest your assets based on your risk tolerance, your age or a cursory plan. We work with you to develop a comprehensive plan that results in a portfolio far more likely to match your needs and goals.

Our Approach Sets Us Apart

Creative Planning is different because our approach to designing your investment portfolio is different. We take a financial planning-led approach with every client, which means we consider more than your risk tolerance, investment objectives and retirement goals.

Even if you’re not interested in financial planning, we take the time to consider elements necessary to create and maintain customized investing strategies. These strategies will lead to financial decisions more likely to achieve your objectives than a cookie-cutter, shortcut approach. Lots of firms say they customize – that’s quite the industry buzzword – but if there is no financial plan, the advisor can’t possibly have enough information to truly customize a portfolio for you.

For example, your income tax bracket can influence the investments you consider. So can any income sources you may have now or in the future, including Social Security, a pension or rental income. The state you live in may have income, property and other taxes that can impact your investment approach. Some investors want to die broke, while others want to leave a large inheritance.

All of this matters when designing a portfolio. Many factors go into designing an investment portfolio optimal for you. We take the time necessary, up front, to make sure we inform ourselves. That way, we are best positioned to advise you on the investments we believe have the best opportunity of meeting your goals and objectives. A risk-tolerance questionnaire and retirement income goal are simply not enough to customize a portfolio.

We’re happy to provide a range of financial management services in-house, from tax preparation to insurance, estate planning and more. They exist because having this range of financial services expertise under one roof is the best way to serve our clients.
