
Rob Eklund
Rob is a member of Creative Planning’s Practice Development team, helping extend the firm’s services into specialized industries and other trusted networks where clients have distinctive needs, such as aviation, law enforcement, dentistry, professional sports and entrepreneurship.
With more than a decade of experience in aviation, Rob provides clients with an in-depth, personalized approach to planning. Currently a major airline captain, Rob was a wealth manager at an independent investment advisory firm (where he specialized in advising aviation professionals and their families) prior to joining Creative Planning.
Rob earned his Bachelor of Science degree in legal studies from the United States Air Force Academy. He retired from the United States Air Force Reserves as a lieutenant colonel after flying more than 600 combat hours in both the C-130 and KC-10 and serving as an FTU instructor and evaluator pilot. His final role as an air planner in NORTHCOM’s J36 Domestic Operations Division involved coordinating response efforts to aid states and territories affected by hurricanes.
Outside of work, Rob and his wife, Jana, love to travel, ski, watch movies and spend time with their son, Robbie.
