Karlen Padayachee

Karlen serves as a Business Attorney, working with corporate clients and owners of closely held businesses to advise them on a wide range of legal matters, including entity formation, buy-sell transactions, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as estate planning and asset transfers associated with their businesses and families.

With more than a decade of experience in the legal services sector, Karlen provides his clients with a truly comprehensive, consultative and supportive experience. Prior to joining Creative Planning, Karlen was a Partner at a Seattle-based law firm, where he worked primarily with businesses and corporate clients.

Karlen earned a Bachelor of Social Science degree, with honors, from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal and a Juris Doctor degree from the Mitchell Hamline School of Law. He has also been recognized as a Super Lawyer Minnesota Rising Star (2020-2023)¹.

Outside the office, Karlen is a proud father to his three children, Ryker, Anja and Aksel. He enjoys working out, golfing, boating, running, doing yoga, playing pickleball, traveling and watching sports. He also enjoys actively contributing to the legal and business community through speaking, mentoring and volunteer work. A dedicated Minnesota Vikings fan, Karlen brings the same passion and commitment to both his family and his clients.
