Anne Doherty

Anne Doherty is a Senior Business Advisor at Creative Planning Business Services, where she brings more than 30 years of strategic and financial leadership to her client engagements. With deep expertise in business analytics, operations management and financial planning, Anne partners with companies across industries to drive performance improvement and navigate complex financial situations.

Anne has held leadership roles in finance, operations and marketing, consistently delivering measurable results for organizations ranging from global corporations to regional mid-market firms. She’s experienced in a range of restructuring scenarios, including assignments for the benefit of creditors (ABCs), Chapter 128 Receiverships and distressed financial advisory. Known for her analytical rigor and pragmatic approach, Anne excels at identifying operational inefficiencies, conducting in-depth financial and competitive benchmarking, and implementing solutions that improve both top-line growth and bottom-line profitability.

Her past engagements have spanned commercial construction, trucking, property management, manufacturing, food distribution, consumer electronics and event services. Notable cases include a $35 million signage company under Chapter 128 Receivership and a $50 million multi-state restaurant franchise in foreclosure. Anne’s work has involved financial and operational assessments, cash flow forecasting, payroll tax compliance, vendor negotiations and asset sales.

Before joining Creative Planning, Anne worked at a Chicago-based firm specializing in turnaround and restructuring services for middle-market companies. She previously held financial and operational leadership positions at a global Fortune 500 company in the chemicals sector and other regional firms, serving as Financial Controller, Marketing Manager, Operations Manager and Financial Consultant.

Anne holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from DePaul University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. She is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the International Women's Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), where she serves as Membership Co-Chair.
