
Gary Pittsford, CFP®
Gary Pittsford serves as Chief Valuation Officer, providing business valuations for corporations, limited liability companies, family limited partnerships and other entities as well as custom service and support to assist the firm’s business owner clients in making informed succession/exit planning decisions.
Gary brings over 48 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Creative Planning, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of an independent advisory firm that provided traditional wealth management and investment management services as well as business valuation services.
Gary has a long history of supporting both national and local organizations as a board member and active participant. He was one of the founding members and the first president of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). In addition, Gary has also served in the United States Chamber of Commerce, National Cooperative Business Association (NCBA), Purdue University Financial Counseling Program, National Foundation for Financial Planning, International Association of Financial Planning (IAFP), Anderson Economic Development Commission, and Financial Planning Association (FPA).
Gary enjoys sharing his expertise through speaking engagements, articles, videos and webinars, having presented at hundreds of conventions and industry events. His articles have been featured in more than 30 publications, including <em>The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Money Magazine, The New York Times, </em>and <em>Financial Planning Magazine.</em>
Gary grew up on a large farm in central Indiana, which his brother continues to operate. He enjoys hunting in Alaska, Montana and British Columbia, and he shares his love of fishing with his two sons.
