Wes serves as a Private Wealth Manager, working directly with his clients to create and maintain a customized financial plan addressing all aspects of a healthy financial life including investments, tax planning, risk management, retirement, employee benefits and estate planning.
Wes brings to his clients decades of experience providing legal, tax and financial services to clients. Prior to joining Creative Planning, he was the co-owner of both a boutique investment advisory firm and an estate planning and tax practice. Prior to establishing his private law practice, he served in the U.S. Navy for 27 years, rising to the rank of Captain as one of the most senior attorneys in the Navy’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
Wes earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, Philosophy and Political Science from Vanderbilt University where he graduated Cum Laude. He earned his Juris Doctorate from George Washington University with Honors. He also earned his Master of Laws Degree from George Washington University in International and Comparative Law with Highest Honors. Wes is admitted to the practice of law in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Wes is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional as designated by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
Wes and his wife Barb, have three children – David, Edward and Jennifer, and they also have four grandchildren – Sitara, Mahira, Lota and Autumn. In his spare time, Wes enjoys climbing 14ers in Colorado, competing in 100-mile bike races, history, travel, and spending time with his family.
