John Hagensen, MSFS, CFP®, CFS, CTS, CIS, CES
John serves as a Managing Director, overseeing offices in Arizona and North Dakota. He also works directly with clients to create and maintain a customized financial plan addressing all aspects holistically, including investments, tax planning, risk management, retirement, employee benefits and estate planning. Additionally, John focusses on helping clients align their money and values to experience their richest life. John hosts a weekly radio show titled “Rethink Your Money” and has authored two books, including his most recent, “The Retirement Flight Plan.”
John brings to his clients more than 12 years of professional experience. Prior to joining Creative Planning, he founded Keystone Wealth Partners, a top ranked* independent investment advisory firm that was later acquired by Creative Planning. Prior to entering the financial industry, John was an airline pilot and has applied his skills of precision, detail, and quality judgement used as an aviator into his wealth management approach.
John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies from Corban University, has a Masters of Science degree in Financial Services from The Institute of Business and Science, and obtained a Professional Certification in Strategic Decision and Risk Management from Stanford University. John is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ as designated by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. John is CERTIFIED FUND SPECIALIST™, CERTIFIED ESTATE AND TRUST SPECIALIST™, CERTIFIED TAX SPECIALIST™ and CERTIFIED INCOME SPECIALIST™ as
designated by the Institute of Business & Finance. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association®.
John and his wife Brittany have seven children – Bek, Sha, Cruz, Zaya, Jude, Aria, and Luna. In his spare time, John enjoys coaching his kids’ teams, surf, an occasional round of golf, and spending time with his family.
