Gene Gard, CFA®, CFP®, CFT-I™, EA

Gene serves as a Wealth Manager, working directly with his clients to create and maintain a customized financial plan addressing all aspects of a healthy financial life, including investments, tax planning, risk management, retirement, employee benefits and estate planning.

With more than 14 years of experience in the financial services industry, Gene worked as a hedge fund trader, a mutual fund portfolio manager and the Chief Investment Officer of a planning and investment firm prior to joining Creative Planning. Prior to joining the financial services industry, Gene was a nuclear-trained submarine officer and speechwriter in the U.S. Navy.

Gene earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, where he graduated with merit. He received a Master of Engineering Management degree from Old Dominion University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Gene is a CFA® charterholder, as awarded by the CFAInstitute, a
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, as designated by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, and an Enrolled Agent with the IRS.

Gene is President of the CFA Society of Memphis and a Trustee of the Alabama School of Fine Arts.
