Bob McCarthy, CPA, CFP®

Bob serves as a Wealth Manager, working directly with clients to develop and coordinate the financial, investment, tax and estate aspects of their plan.
Prior to joining Creative Planning, Bob spent 3 years in auditing and tax at KPMG in Kansas City, two years as a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch, eight years as the director of taxation and financial planning at Professional Management Midwest and ten years with his own firm, Robert J. McCarthy, CPA, CFP® in Leawood, Kansas.
Bob earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Rockhurst University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Kansas. He also is a licensed CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certificate.
Bob is a volunteer with the Community Blood Center of Kansas City and Harvesters Food Bank of Kansas City. He is married to Jennifer and has two daughters, Megan and Hannah, and two sons, Jack and Joey. In his spare time, Bob enjoys ping-pong, tennis, working out and spending time with his family and friends.
