Peter Sengelmann, MBA, CFA

Peter serves as a Partner and the Director of International Investments, working with clients around the world to help them achieve their financial goals through comprehensive financial planning that addresses all aspects of a healthy financial life, including global investments, cross-border tax and estate planning, college savings and retirement planning. Peter also serves as a permanent member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee.

Peter brings to his clients nearly two decades of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Creative Planning, Perter was Chief Investment Officer of an independent advisory firm servicing international clients. He previously worked in institutional asset management for major international financial firms while living in Los Angeles and Singapore.

Peter earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics with a minor in Chinese studies from the University of California, San Diego. He also completed a Mandarin language scholarship at the National Taiwan Normal University and speaks Mandarin fluently. Peter earned his Master of Business Administration degree in finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®, as designated by the CFA Institute.

Peter and his wife, Putri, have six children. In his spare time, Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and children, participating in sports (especially volleyball, surfing and water/snow skiing), cooking, traveling and watching movies.
