Maria Cornelius, CFP®
Managing Director
Maria serves as a Managing Director, Partner and Private Wealth Manager, working directly with her clients to create and maintain a customized financial plan addressing all aspects of a healthy financial life, including investments, tax planning, risk management, retirement, employee benefits and estate planning.
With more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, Maria has developed an in-depth knowledge of providing clients with comprehensive wealth management. Prior to joining Creative Planning, she was a wealth manager and an executive vice president at a Maryland-based independent investment advisory firm.
Maria earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount St. Mary’s University. She is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER<sup>®</sup> professional, as designated by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.
Maria and her husband, Fred, have two children: Patrick and Michael. In her spare time, Maria is very involved with charitable ministries through her church, St. Jane Frances de Chantal. She also participates in annual week-long mission trips through the Appalachia Service Project.
