Joni Cobb

Joni serves as a Director of Practice Development, helping extend the firm’s services into specialized industries and other trusted networks where clients have distinctive needs, such as business ownership, aviation, law enforcement, dentistry, professional sports and entrepreneurship.

With more than two decades of experience in business and technology, Joni connects individuals, families and business owners with the comprehensive wealth management support, professional talent and resources of Creative Planning. Prior to joining Creative Planning, Joni served as the founding president and CEO of a program designed to support high-growth entrepreneurs in the Midwest. During her 14-year tenure, she delivered significant economic results that garnered national accolades.

Joni has been recognized on the following lists: the Power 100 in Kansas City, Women Who Mean Business, Women of Influence and Techweek 100. She has also been featured in well-known industry publications, appeared on radio and television and earned both a Mid-America Emmy Award and an International Stevie Award for writing, directing and co-editing a documentary-style film.

Joni earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and political science from the University of Missouri and her Juris Doctor degree from the Washington University School of Law.

Joni and her husband, Peter, live in Kansas City and are parents to four adult children. They both enjoy hanging with their dogs, watching musical theater, working on their home, staying in shape and traveling to see people they love.
