Jeff Ellis

Jeff serves as a Business Attorney, working with corporate clients and owners of closely held businesses to advise them on a wide range of legal matters, including entity formation, buy-sell transactions, and mergers and acquisitions, as well as estate planning and asset transfers associated with their businesses and families.

With more than 25 years of experience in the legal services sector, Jeff provides his clients with a truly comprehensive, consultative and supportive experience. Prior to joining Creative Planning, Jeff owned his own law firm for 15 years, where he worked with companies around the country, focusing on business and compensation matters including executive and non-qualified deferred compensation.

Jeff received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin, with majors in economics, political science and Spanish, and his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota.

In his free time, Jeff enjoys traveling, golfing, reading and spending time with his wife, Katie, and their four children.
