Fred Cornelius, CFA®, CFP®

Fred serves as a Managing Director and Private Wealth Manager, working directly with his clients to create and maintain a customized financial plan addressing all aspects of a healthy financial life, including investments, tax planning, risk management, retirement, employee benefits and estate planning.

With more than four decades of experience in the financial services industry, Fred has developed an in-depth knowledge of providing clients with comprehensive wealth management. Prior to joining Creative Planning, he was the CEO and a private wealth manager at an independent investment advisory firm.

Fred earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Old Dominion University. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst^® designation, as awarded by the CFA Institute, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER^® professional, as designated by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.

Fred and his wife, Maria, have two adult sons. In his spare time, Fred enjoys fly fishing, woodworking and spending time with his family at their log cabin farm. Fred is involved with charitable ministries through his church, St. Jane Frances de Chantal, and participates in annual week-long mission trips through the Appalachia Service Project.
