Catherine Maydew

Catherine serves as a Virtual Chief Financial Officer (vCFO), providing strategic financial management and guidance to businesses remotely to help ensure well-informed board decisions and enhance overall business performance and sustainability.

Catherine began her career in public accounting before moving to the private sector. Prior to joining Creative Planning Business Services, she ran her own consulting firm for more than 17 years, working with public service clients such as nonprofits, governments, governmental entities, schools, healthcare organizations and foundations. She has also taught classes on governmental and non-profit accounting as an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

Catherine received her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from DePaul University and her Master of Business Administration degree from Creighton University, where she was awarded a Leadership Fellow.

Catherine is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Government Finance Officers Association and serves as the nonprofit committee chair for the Nebraska Society of CPAs. Active in her community, Catherine is the past president of the Omaha Academy of Ballet, past board treasurer for Fontenelle Forest and past parish council treasurer at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church. Catherine, her husband (Marcus) and her son (Evan) are lifelong learners and avid readers.
