Sam serves as a Wealth Manager, working directly with clients to develop and implement comprehensive financial plans to address their goals and most complex financial needs. Sam practices in the areas of retirement planning, investment management, tax planning, estate planning, business valuation and succession planning, risk management, and charitable planning. Sam’s holistic approach focuses on a thorough understanding of your circumstances in order to provide you with a truly customized plan to help achieve your family’s goals.

Sam brings over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry to his clients. Prior to joining Creative Planning, Sam was the President of an independent, family-owned advisory firm that specialized in serving high net worth individuals, families, executives with complex benefits, and business owners.

Sam earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in economics and management from Rice University. Sam is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional as designated by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards and has obtained the Certified Business Valuation Specialist™ designation from the Business Valuation Institute™.

Sam and his wife, Audrey, live in Overland Park, Kansas with their dog, Pesto (named after Audrey’s famous sauce). As a former collegiate athlete, Sam enjoys any sport with a moving ball. In 2015, he founded the L.E.A.D. – KC Foundation (www.leadkc.org), a not-for-profit organization designed to financially assist tomorrow’s difference makers and student-athletes in their pursuits of higher education.
