Julia Zhu, MSF, CFA®, CPWA
Julia serves as a Private Wealth Manager, working directly with her clients to create and maintain a customized financial plan addressing all aspects of a healthy financial life including investments, tax planning, risk management, retirement, employee benefits and estate planning. She believes in the importance of aligning clients' wealth with their goals and personal values and sees her mission as bringing peace and clarity into clients' financial lives.
Prior to joining Creative Planning, Julia served as portfolio manager for a fee-only independent wealth management firm in Boston, where she was extensively involved in investment research, portfolio construction, strategy creation and execution, tax strategies and estate planning. Earlier in her career, Julia advised corporations on mergers & acquisitions while at a major international accounting firm in Beijing before transitioning to a career in wealth management with a national wealth advisory firm.
Julia earned her Master of Science in Finance from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. She also earned a Bachelor of Economics degree in Finance from University of International Business and Economics in Beijing, China. Julia is a Chartered Financial Analyst as designated by the CFA Institute and a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® designated by the Investments & Wealth Institute. Julia is fluent in both English and Mandarin and enjoys finding solutions to cross-border and cross-cultural financial issues.
Julia and her husband Tony have two children - Emma and Ellie. In her spare time, Julia enjoys yoga, hiking, camping and spending time in nature with her family and friends.
